The error log is always turned on, but a setting is available in the Global.asa file to hide the Utility menu option for all users, or to set a default logging level for all users. From the Error Log page, users can override the logging level for the current session. Any changes to the log level reset to the default values the next time the user logs in.
Administrators have other options to configure the error log settings, as discussed in the Versatile Web-Enterprise User Manual.
Click Error Log from the Utility menu on the Versatile Web main menu bar. The Error/Log page displays. The page consists of two sections:
Error messages encountered after a user logs in display at the top of the page. Actions that occur before a user logs in display at the bottom of the page.
Enter a number from 1 to 50 in the Log Level field to change the log level or level of detail tracked in the log. The higher the number, the more detail tracked.
Note: An increased log level records more information about the user’s activity (in case there is a problem that must be addressed). Do not use an increased log level for extended periods of time due to the amount of space logs take and the decrease in application performance.
Click Go back to return to the previous page.
