Printing File Labels

Print labels for completed File Creation Requests from the My File Requests page.

NOTE: Versatile Administrators can turn off the print capability for all users by configuring security in Versatile Enterprise.

Once a request is complete in Versatile Enterprise and a file number assigned, select the files for which you want to print labels and the label format you want to use. Selected labels are saved to a PDF (portable document format) file, you can print or save to disk for later use.

To print file labels:

  1. Click My File Requests from the Creation menu.

  2. Filter the display, as discussed in Viewing My File Requests.

  3. Select the labels you want to print by doing the following:

NOTE: Only completed requests, indicated by a file number assigned in Versatile Enterprise, are available to select. These items have a plus/minus sign next to them.

  1. Select the label format for the labels from the Label Format drop-down list. Label formats are defined in Versatile Enterprise.

If you have the Versatile Color Label Designer add-on installed, you can print your labels in color. Select the label format from the Versatile Color Label Format drop-down list. Label formats are designed in Versatile Color Label Designer.

  1. Enter the starting position in the Starting Position field if you use sheet labels, as with a laser printer. By default, the starting position is set to 1; however, if the sheet is partially used, indicate the starting position to skip the vacant or used labels on the page.
  2. Click Preview and Print Labels. Versatile creates a PDF of the labels. The PDF opens in a preview window.
  3. Click the Print Labels button to print the labels. The printer dialog box opens.

  4. Specify the print job parameters, e.g., the printer from which you want to print and the number of copies, and then click OK.

You can also do any of the following from this window:

    1. To save the labels to a local or network drive, right-click Open Labels, and then select Save Target As... Browse to the destination folder, enter a file name, and then click Save. You can also use the Save icon in the lower pane.

    2. To open the labels in a new window, click Open in New Window.

  1. Click Confirm Labels Printed once the labels print successfully.

NOTE: To close the preview window, click the “X” in the upper right corner.
