Searching by Advanced Criteria

Use the Advanced Criteria tab to search by company, department/sub-department, record series, content date range, storage room, and/or media type.

To search by advanced criteria:

  1. [Optional] Click Clear to remove previous search filters.

  2. Select whether you want to search boxes and/or files by clicking the Boxes and/or Files check boxes. By default, Versatile searches both active and inactive boxes and/or files.

  3. Enter keywords as described in Searching by Keyword if you want to combine the search with keywords.

  4. If you want to filter by box/file criteria, enter the criteria, as described in Searching by Box/File Criteria.

  5. Select the Advanced Criteria tab.

Note: Whenever you click in an entry field, Versatile automatically checks the check box next to that field; however, your search is not filtered by that field unless you enter a value in the field.

  1. Enter the following search criteria, as necessary:

Note: If your user ID was set up with a default department, it is selected by default.

  1. Change the number of search results to display per page, if necessary, from the Results per page drop-down list.

  1. Click Search to begin searching. The search results are displayed on the Search Results Page (see Displaying Search Results).
